Awarded with Liebster Love

We have been awarded with The Liebster Award by Life Through a Lens. Not only is her title catchy, her pictures are note worthy too. Check her out here! Thank you :)

The Liebster award is given to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers.  We surpassed the 200 mark for followers a while back but since Life Through a Lens made an exception by awarding it to us, we will take it!

What is a Liebster?  The meaning: Liebster is German and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.

So what do we have to do to show our appreciation?

  1. Answer the questions that the tagger set for you plus create 11 questions for the people you’ve tagged to answer.
  2. Choose 11 bloggers and link them in your post.
  3. Go to their page and tell them.

Life Through a Lens set us these 11 questions:

-If you could go anywhere, where would you go, and why?

Aneesa: Morocco. Its always been on my list… a place with a rich culture thousands of years old, people famous for their hospitality, and natural landscapes ranging from beautiful Atlantic beaches to the Sahara desert.

Faraaz: Greece. The mere mention of Greece conjures up images of ancient ruins, pristine white beaches and classical Greek architecture. It would be an amazing holiday destination.

-What was your reason for starting a blog on WordPress?

Aneesa: When Faraaz came to Korea, we thought that a blog would be a good way to keep both our families informed of our life and activities here in Korea.

Faraaz: And now… it’s spiraled into so much more than that. We write about a ton of other topics and now our families make up only about 5% about of our followers.

-What is your most frequently visited blog and why?

Aneesa: I think it would be Adventures We Seek. They are a married couple also living as expats in Busan, South Korea. They have travelled all over the world and as a result, have some pretty awesome pictures and experiences.

Faraaz: My favourite blog would be http://awesomearchitecture.wordpress.com/. The title kind of says it all doesn’t it? They showcase beautiful and unique houses/ restaurants, hotels etc. Even if you don’t like architecture just have a look at the pictures.

-Did you look at Freshly Pressed today? If so, which featured blog post did you like the most?

Aneesa: “What Makes a Post Freshly Press-able? Literature and Libation.” It’s by Michelle, a WordPress editor and EVERY BLOGGER should read it. Its not just advice for wanting to be on Freshly Pressed; its tips to improve one’s writing and the blogging experience as a whole.

Faraaz: “How Oscar Pistorius Makes You Feel Inadequate”. A post about one of the most inspirational South African men around today. Read it, it will motivate you.

-What most inspires you?

Aneesa: My brain is a funny thing. I can be inspired by just about anything, anytime, anywhere. Books, the weather, my students, travel and blogging. My family and Faraaz are constant sources of inspiration.

Faraaz: Music, nature, architecture and anything artistically intriguing.

-What type of atmosphere most inspires you to write/take photos/illustrate/whatever it is that you like to do?

Aneesa: I don’t need any specific atmosphere to be inspired. I am always snapping away & composing stories in my head.

Faraaz: A peaceful, quiet atmosphere where I can concentrate and get lost in my own thoughts.

-If you could be any celebrity for a day, who would you be?

Aneesa: There is no way I could be a celebrity in 2012, even just for a day. BUT I wouldn’t have minded being Audrey Hepburn. Gorgeous. Intelligent. Caring. Talented. All of these adjectives—and many more—describe one of the most amazing and beautiful actresses in film history.

Faraaz: Neil Patrick Harris: One of the most versatile actors and down to earth guys. Oh and because he’s legend… wait for it… :D

-Favorite movie quote?

Aneesa: In the Prisoner of Azkaban, Albus Dumbledore tells Harry, “Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” I <3 that quote. Well there are so many Harry Potter quotes that I love but that one stands out for me.

Faraaz: The most famous Fight Club Quote:

“Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who’ve ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don’t need. We’re the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War’s a spiritual war… our Great Depression is our lives. We’ve all been raised on television to believe that one day we’d all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won’t. And we’re slowly learning that fact. And we’re very, very pissed off. “

So, what do you think? :) Read it again. So much said in just a few sentences. Awesome. Think about it.

-What is something that you would like to see people post more about?

Aneesa: Nothing really. I enjoy the variety of things that people post about.

Faraaz: The blogosphere is quite diverse and versatile; I don’t really think there is any topic that is being left untouched.

-Favourite Starbucks drink?

Aneesa: Iced vanilla latte! Yum!

Faraaz: I agree…

-If you were a word, what word would you be?

Aneesa: Oh I love words. A tough one but one of my favourites is: “I miss you = لك شت ا” (Ishtalek) As long as people pronounced me correctly, I’d be happy being a word between lovers, friends or family.

Faraaz: “Ethereal” Meaning:

a. Of the celestial spheres; heavenly.

b.Not of this world; spiritual.

So these were the questions we are giving to our choices:

  1. Favourite book to film adaptation?
  2. What was your first job?
  3. Who is your favourite author?
  4. If you could travel anywhere in the world and money was no object, where would you go? Why?
  5. What’s the first thing you notice about the opposite sex?
  6. What accomplishment are you most proud of?
  7. If you had to live in a decade other than the current one, which would you choose?
  8. Eating in a theater- nefarious behaviour or perfectly acceptable?
  9. Sailboat or cruise ship?
  10. If you could go back, what advice would you give yourself in high school?
  11. What movie do you flat-out refuse to watch, no matter how good people say it is?
